Mitchell Starc replaces Jasprit Bumrah as No. 1 Test bowler

## Starc's Rise to Number One

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has claimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings for the first time. His exceptional performance against Bangladesh, where he took a total of 10 wickets, propelled him to this achievement. Starc's efforts included taking six wickets for 12 runs in the first innings and four for 39 in the second, leading Australia to an innings-and-51-run victory.

## Impact on Rankings

Starc's rise to the number one position sees him surpass New Zealand's Matt Henry and India's Jasprit Bumrah. Previously, Starc had reached a career-high ranking of second place after the Boxing Day Test last year. Bumrah, who held the top spot for two months, has been the number one Test bowler for a total of 697 days, the most by any Indian bowler.

## Other Notable Movements

England's Ollie Robinson made significant strides in the rankings, moving up 15 places to 11th after his impressive performance against Pakistan. His teammate Josh Tongue also climbed 16 places to 17th. Meanwhile, India's Manav Suthar rose 28 places to 48th following his 10-wicket haul against Sri Lanka.

In the batting rankings, England's Harry Brook solidified his lead over Joe Root, while India's Rishabh Pant re-entered the top 10 after a year. Other notable movers include Australia's Cameron Green and Sri Lanka's Dhananjaya de Silva.
