## Full Responsibility on Schools
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has mandated that schools are fully responsible for ensuring the safety of students on school buses. This responsibility remains even when schools outsource transportation services to third-party operators.
## Compliance and Penalties
Schools must adhere to the Integrated Transport Centre's (ITC) regulations and the Abu Dhabi Guidelines for Regulating School Bus Traffic. Violations can lead to fines ranging from Dh100 to Dh200,000, with a five-day correction period allowed.
## Specific Violations
There are 56 identified violations related to school buses, including nine specific to schools. These include failing to provide enough buses, not appointing a transport officer, and not having a bus supervisor for children under 11. Penalties for these violations can escalate with repeated offenses.
## Operator and Driver Responsibilities
Operators face 24 possible violations, such as operating without permits or failing to designate pick-up points. Drivers have 12 potential violations, including not conducting daily bus inspections or ensuring safety equipment is present. Supervisors can be fined for allowing students to stand while the bus is moving or not ensuring students are seated with seat belts fastened.
