Are Chelsea the only team that can stop Arsenal this season?

## Arsenal's Strong Start

Arsenal began the 2026/27 Premier League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Coventry City, following a similar win against Manchester City in the Community Shield. The Gunners have bolstered their squad with key signings like Ezri Konsa and Piero Hincapié in defense, and Christos Tzolis in attack, enhancing their depth and quality.

## Rivals in Transition

Many of Arsenal's traditional rivals are in transition. Manchester United, under new permanent manager Michael Carrick, and Tottenham, aiming for a top-four finish, both dropped points on the opening weekend. Liverpool is adjusting to life without Mohamed Salah and a new manager, Andoni Iraola. Manchester City, now led by Mikel Meresca, showed vulnerabilities despite winning their first match.

## Chelsea's Potential

Chelsea, under new manager Xabi Alonso, secured a 3-2 win over Fulham. Alonso, known for his success with Bayer Leverkusen, brings a fresh approach. Chelsea's recruitment strategy has shifted, adding experienced players like Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, alongside Maxence Lacroix, to complement their young talent. While questions remain about their consistency and defense, Chelsea appears poised to challenge Arsenal this season.
