Saudi Arabia to invest $7 bn in theme parks near Paris: French presidency

## Major Investment Announced

Saudi Arabia has committed to a significant investment of $7 billion to develop three theme parks near Paris. This agreement was formalized during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to France.

## Project Details

The planned theme parks will be located near Cergy-Pontoise, approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Paris. One of the parks is expected to have a manga theme, inspired by a shared interest in manga between French President Emmanuel Macron and the Crown Prince.

## Economic Impact

The project is anticipated to create around 22,000 direct jobs, surpassing the employment generated by Disneyland Paris. The development will be managed by Qiddiya, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.

## Construction Timeline

The parks will be constructed and opened in phases over several years, although specific opening dates have not been disclosed. The themes for the other two parks remain unspecified at this time.
