## New Payment Policy
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has introduced a policy requiring private schools to offer flexible payment options for tuition fees. Parents can now pay in three to ten instalments, providing more convenience and financial flexibility.
## Exemptions for Second-Hand Materials
Under the new guidelines, schools must exempt fees for devices, textbooks, and uniforms if students use second-hand items that meet current school standards. This initiative aims to reduce financial burdens on families.
## Fee Structure and Transparency
Schools are mandated to clearly publish their fee structures, including any additional charges for board examinations. These fees must be approved by ADEK and displayed on school websites, ensuring transparency and compliance with VAT regulations.
## Transportation Costs
As school bus fees rise, parents are exploring alternative transportation options such as carpooling and public buses to manage costs. The increase in transportation fees, which can reach up to Dh8,500 per student, has prompted calls for better regulation to keep services affordable.
