The draw for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers is set for August 27 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event will determine the composition of seven groups, each consisting of five teams, for the upcoming qualification rounds.

## Qualification Process

The qualification matches will occur from November 8 to 20, 2026. The seven group winners will secure their spots in the Finals, joining nine teams that have already qualified due to their participation in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026. These automatically qualified teams include Australia, China PR, Japan, Republic of Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

## Teams and Seeding

A total of 35 teams will participate in the draw, with 13 nations aiming to make their debut in the Finals. These debut hopefuls include Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Lebanon, Maldives, Mongolia, Northern Mariana Islands, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Macau, China. The teams have been seeded into five pots, with an additional Hosts Pot, based on their rankings from the last three editions of the tournament.

The Hosts Pot features Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, and the Kyrgyz Republic. This pot is part of the seeding process to ensure a balanced draw for the qualifiers.
