## Enhanced Safety Measures
The UAE Ministry of Education has introduced comprehensive inspection guidelines for government schools to ensure safety and compliance ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year. These guidelines cover various aspects including building safety, transportation, student protection, and food services.
## Building and Facility Standards
Schools must ensure that structural elements like walls, ceilings, and floors are defect-free. Corridors and staircases should be safe and unobstructed for student movement. Surveillance cameras are required both inside and outside, with measures to protect student privacy.
## Transport and Health Regulations
School transport must adhere to emirate-specific regulations, with qualified drivers and supervisors. Schools are also required to maintain first-aid kits and ensure electrical safety by keeping connections insulated and out of reach.
## Canteen and Food Safety
Canteens must comply with health standards, ensuring food is stored and displayed at appropriate temperatures. Staff must be trained in food safety, and sales points should be organized to prevent overcrowding.
## Inclusive Education
The framework includes provisions for students with disabilities, ensuring accessible environments and support programs. Schools must not exclude these students and should have qualified teachers to assist them.
## Preparations for the New Year
Staff will return on August 24 for final preparations, including curriculum reviews and teacher development, before students start on August 31. The first term will feature various assessments leading up to the winter break in December.
