Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport is set to feature a 50-kilometer automated people mover (APM) system, which will be the largest of its kind globally. This ambitious project is part of the airport's expansion plan, aiming to accommodate 260 million passengers annually by 2032.

## Key Features of the People Mover

The APM will connect nine stations across the airport, utilizing 165 driverless vehicles. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), known for its work on the Dubai Metro, is leading the project in collaboration with MHI Mobility Engineering Services and Larsen & Toubro. The system is designed to enhance passenger convenience and streamline airport operations.

## Timeline and Development

The construction of the APM is scheduled for completion by December 2031, with the airport's full opening planned for the following year. The project is part of a broader initiative to establish Al Maktoum International as a major aviation hub, incorporating the latest technology and design innovations.

## Connectivity and Future Plans

In addition to the internal people mover, Dubai is progressing with plans for an Airport Express Line to link Al Maktoum International with Dubai International Airport and other key locations. This will include connections via the Etihad Rail and the proposed Gold Line of the Dubai Metro, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for travelers.
