Dubai’s iconic Toyota building to be demolished in 2027

## Iconic Landmark to Be Demolished

Dubai's renowned Toyota building, located on Sheikh Zayed Road, is slated for demolition in 2027. This decision marks the end of an era for the 15-storey residential complex, which has been a prominent feature of the city's skyline since its completion in 1974.

## Tenants' Future

The building's management, Nasser Rashid Lootah Real Estate, has confirmed that current tenants can remain until December 2026. Some residents have already begun moving out, partly due to electricity disconnections affecting partitioned apartments.

## Historical Significance

Originally known for its neon Toyota sign, the building has been a familiar sight for decades. The sign was first installed in 1981 and removed in 2018, only to be reinstated in 2022. The building offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and has been a key residential spot for over 50 years.
