Abu Dhabi launches Healthy Horizons to support preventive care for Emirati senior citizens

## New Initiative for Preventive Care

Abu Dhabi has launched "Healthy Horizons," a program designed to enhance preventive healthcare and promote active aging among Emirati senior citizens. This initiative, spearheaded by PureHealth and the Family Development Foundation, aims to provide early detection of health risks and ensure timely medical support.

## Comprehensive Health Support

The program offers free health screenings, workshops, and digital support to older adults. It covers various health aspects such as geriatric medicine, chronic disease management, eye health, sleep quality, and mental wellbeing. Participants will also receive guidance on accessing PureHealth’s clinical network for further medical care if needed.

## Digital and Community Engagement

Healthy Horizons includes support for using "Pura," an AI-powered health app by PureHealth, to help seniors stay connected to their healthcare services. The initiative also emphasizes strengthening family and community ties, encouraging active and engaged lifestyles for seniors.

## Volunteer Involvement

The program has already seen participation from 54 trained volunteers from the PureHeroes platform, contributing over 270 service hours. This complements other senior healthcare services in Abu Dhabi, such as the Barakatna Clinic.

## Future Plans

Healthy Horizons plans to expand its reach to more communities, increasing screening coverage and enhancing digital follow-up for participants. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s National Policy for Senior Citizens, aiming to improve the quality of life for older adults.
