Heavy thunderstorms forecast across Saudi Arabia through Saturday

## Weather Forecast

Saudi Arabia is set to experience heavy thunderstorms and rain across several regions until Saturday, as predicted by the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM). The southwestern areas, including Jazan, Asir, and Al Baha, are likely to see the most intense weather conditions later in the week.

## Rainfall Patterns

The forecast indicates that rain will start with light showers in southern Asir and parts of Mecca from Tuesday. By Wednesday, very light rain may reach southern Najran and southeastern parts of the Eastern Province. As the week progresses, a broader spell of unsettled weather is expected from Thursday, affecting Asir, eastern Jazan, Najran, Mecca, and Riyadh.

## Intensifying Conditions

Rainfall is anticipated to intensify significantly on Friday, particularly along the Asir-Jazan border and across Al Baha. Lighter showers are expected around Taif and Mecca. By Friday evening, the rain will become more scattered as it moves northward, potentially affecting Mecca, Al Baha, Medina, and northwestern Riyadh.

## Weekend Outlook

On Saturday, light to moderate rain is forecast along the Asir-Jazan border and western Al-Baha, with conditions intensifying locally. Scattered showers might also impact Mecca and areas near the Medina-Mecca border. The NCM predicts that wet conditions will largely clear by early Sunday.
