The Rio de Janeiro fire department reported that eight individuals were confirmed dead at the scene. Rescue teams had to conduct excavation operations to reach and assist passengers. In total, 49 people were affected by the accident. Local media later reported that two more victims died after being taken from the site, bringing the death toll to ten, including nine women and a young girl.
