Saudi Arabia bans mobile vendors from operating in nine locations

## New Regulations for Mobile Vendors

Saudi Arabia has introduced new regulations prohibiting mobile vendors from operating in nine specific types of locations. This move aims to enhance road safety, manage traffic flow, and ensure public spaces are used appropriately.

## Affected Areas

The restrictions apply to road intersections, central medians, parking spaces for disabled individuals, main road entrances and exits, areas near traffic lights, public parking zones, bicycle lanes, and roads with heavy traffic. Locations designated for police, traffic, Civil Defence, and ambulance services are also included.

## Objectives and Implementation

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing stated that these measures are designed to protect both motorists and pedestrians, prevent traffic obstructions, and maintain the intended use of public facilities. The regulations also aim to support self-employment and curb unregulated practices by providing a clear framework for mobile vendor operations.

## Monitoring and Reporting

Municipalities will oversee the enforcement of these regulations as part of their regular inspections. The public can report any violations through a dedicated hotline or mobile app.
