## Joint Statement on Gaza Peace Plan
The United Arab Emirates, along with seven other nations, has issued a joint statement condemning Israel's rejection of a peace plan for Gaza. The foreign ministers of the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt expressed their disapproval of Israel's stance, which they believe undermines efforts to achieve a lasting peace in the region.
## Concerns Over Peace Road Map
The ministers highlighted that Israel's rejection of the Road Map, part of a comprehensive plan endorsed by the UN Security Council, poses a significant threat to peace efforts. This plan, supported by Palestinian factions, aims to decommission weapons, withdraw Israeli forces, and establish a stable administrative authority in Gaza.
## Call for US Engagement
The statement emphasized the need for continued US involvement to ensure Israel's compliance with the peace plan. The ministers warned that Israel's actions could lead to further instability and hinder the prospects for a two-state solution, which they see as essential for lasting peace.
## Urgent Implementation Needed
The ministers called for the immediate implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to address humanitarian needs and promote security in Gaza. They reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
## Role of the Board of Peace
The statement also underscored the importance of the Board of Peace in facilitating the plan's implementation and urged all parties to support its efforts. The ministers stressed that any attempt to deny Palestinian statehood would undermine regional stability and peace.
