## Record-Breaking Skydive

Three Indian expatriates residing in the UAE have achieved a Guinness World Record by skydiving from 13,000 feet while carrying the Indian national flag. This remarkable feat was part of a larger event involving 65 skydivers from various countries, all jumping from a Military Ilyushin Il-76TD aircraft in Libya on August 7.

## Participants and Preparation

The Indian participants included Jamsheer Thanalot from Kerala, Abhishek Rawat from Uttar Pradesh, and Isha Raj from Bihar. They were the only Indians in the group. The team traveled to Libya on August 5 and conducted three trial jumps before the record attempt.

## Challenges and Execution

The skydive was particularly challenging due to the need for all participants to exit the aircraft almost simultaneously, increasing the risk of parachute entanglement. Additionally, each skydiver had to land within a designated area to ensure the record was valid.

## Personal Achievements

Abhishek Rawat and Isha Raj, a married couple, added a personal touch to the event. Abhishek, with over 1,200 jumps, is a skydiving coach, while Isha has completed more than 210 jumps. They expressed pride in representing India and the UAE during this historic jump.

## Community and Support

Jamsheer, who has over 320 jumps, credited Emirati skydiver Saif Matar for his support. He emphasized the pride of representing Indian expatriates in the UAE, especially as the event coincided with India's 80th Independence Day.

The successful record attempt highlights the skill and dedication of the skydivers, many of whom have extensive experience, with several participants having completed over 1,000 jumps.
