## New Penalties for Blocking Emergency Vehicles
In Abu Dhabi, drivers who obstruct emergency vehicles will face a Dh3,000 fine, six traffic points, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. This measure, announced by the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, aims to ensure that emergency responders can reach incidents swiftly.
## "Don’t Hesitate... Give Way Immediately" Campaign
The penalties are part of the "Don’t Hesitate... Give Way Immediately" campaign, launched by Abu Dhabi Police and the Civil Defence Authority. This initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Department of Municipalities and Transport, seeks to promote a culture of immediate response among drivers.
## Importance of Quick Response
Authorities emphasize that every second counts in emergencies, whether it's a road accident, fire, or medical situation. Delays caused by blocked emergency vehicles can exacerbate critical situations, potentially endangering lives.
## Encouraging Responsible Driving
Motorists are encouraged to view emergency sirens as a call to action, not an inconvenience. By promptly giving way, drivers not only assist those in need but also protect emergency crews working under hazardous conditions.
