On India's 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a vision for the nation to become a developed country by 2047. Speaking from the Red Fort, he emphasized the importance of self-reliance and initiatives like Make in India and Vocal for Local to achieve this goal.

## Economic and Technological Growth

Modi highlighted significant growth in various sectors over the past 12 years. Defence production has increased nearly fourfold, while Khadi and village industries have grown fivefold. Electronics manufacturing has expanded sevenfold, and mobile phone production has surged 33-fold. The number of internet users has quadrupled, and digital transactions have grown 100-fold.

## Improvements in Public Amenities and Governance

The Prime Minister noted improvements in public services, including increased access to tap-water, gas connections, and housing for underprivileged families. He also mentioned the removal of outdated laws and the expansion of metro networks and public transport as part of governance reforms.

## Call for Ambitious Goals

Modi urged citizens to dream big and work collectively towards achieving the vision of a developed India. He stressed that small dreams are insufficient and encouraged Indians to broaden their aspirations.

## Independence Day Celebrations

The celebrations included the hoisting of the National Flag at the Red Fort, accompanied by a 21-gun salute using indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns. The ceremony was led by Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat, with Naib Subedar Anuthosh Sarkar as the Gun Position Officer.
