## Details of the Attack

The assailant, reportedly a Nihang, attempted to stab Badal with a kirpan. Security personnel intervened, preventing more severe injuries. Badal sustained an injury to his hand and was taken to a private hospital for treatment. A security officer was also injured during the incident.

## Police and Investigation

Maharashtra Police confirmed the attack took place within the gurudwara premises. The attacker has been detained, and an investigation is ongoing. Police officials stated that Badal's injuries are not life-threatening, and he has received stitches.

## Background

This is not the first attack on Badal. In December 2024, he survived an assassination attempt outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar. During that incident, he was unharmed, and the attacker was apprehended quickly.
