Not all schools adhere to the unified calendar. Private schools in Sharjah and those offering alternative curricula, such as Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi, may have different schedules. Some schools, particularly those following the Indian curriculum, start their academic year in April and end in March, ensuring they meet the required 182 instructional days.

## Public Holidays

Parents should also consider public holidays when planning. Expected holidays include Eid Al Fitr from March 8 to 12, 2027, Eid Al Adha from May 15 to 18, and Hijri New Year on June 6. These dates are based on the Islamic calendar and may change upon official confirmation.

## Sharjah's Private School Calendar

Sharjah's private schools will also begin classes on August 31, 2026, with the winter break from December 14, 2026, to January 3, 2027. Spring break will be from April 5 to 8, 2027, and the academic year will end on July 1, 2027. This calendar applies to private schools in Sharjah, except those following Indian and Pakistani curricula.
