## Incident Overview
Fourteen Filipino seafarers have safely returned to the Philippines following an incident involving the MT Acheloos. The vessel was struck by a missile while navigating near Oman on July 20, 2026. Fortunately, the crew was unharmed and disembarked at Shinas Port in Oman.
## Repatriation Process
The seafarers were transported to Muscat International Airport, where they received support from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Muscat and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). These organizations coordinated their safe return to the Philippines, working closely with the seafarers' manning agency and the vessel's local agent.
## Arrival in the Philippines
The group departed Muscat on August 9, traveling via Qatar Airways to Manila. Upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on August 10, they were met by representatives from OWWA and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The seafarers received airport assistance and special financial aid.
## Additional Support
OWWA and DMW arranged for medical checkups and temporary accommodation for the seafarers before they reunited with their families. This coordinated effort ensured the well-being and smooth transition of the seafarers back to their home country.
