## Incident Overview
Fourteen Filipino seafarers have safely returned to the Philippines following an incident involving the MT Acheloos. The vessel was struck by a missile while navigating near Oman on July 20, 2026. Fortunately, all crew members were unharmed and disembarked safely at Shinas Port.
## Repatriation Process
The seafarers were transported to Muscat International Airport, where the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Muscat, along with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), provided necessary support including meals and airport assistance. The coordination for their return involved the Philippine Embassy in Oman and the seafarers' manning agency.
## Arrival in the Philippines
The group departed Muscat on August 9 and arrived in Manila on August 10, traveling via Qatar Airways. Upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, they were met by representatives from OWWA and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), who offered further assistance including financial aid.
## Support and Assistance
In addition to airport assistance, OWWA and DMW arranged for medical checkups and temporary accommodation for the seafarers. These measures ensured their well-being before they reunited with their families.
