## Farhan Akhtar's Subtle Remark
Farhan Akhtar recently made a comment that seemed to reference the ongoing drama surrounding Ranveer Singh's exit from "Don 3." While discussing the challenges of filmmaking, Akhtar recalled a past incident with Saif Ali Khan during "Dil Chahta Hai," where Khan almost left due to scheduling conflicts. Reflecting on actors dropping out before filming, Akhtar quipped, "Not just with me. Aisa bhi hota hai. Huh?" Though he didn't name Singh, the timing of his remark has drawn parallels to the "Don 3" situation.
## The 'Don 3' Dispute
The "Don 3" controversy began in December 2025 when Singh reportedly left the project weeks before shooting was set to start. This led to disputes over compensation and production losses, involving industry bodies and mediation. Singh cited issues with the script, Farhan's availability, and budget cuts as reasons for his departure. He also claimed his remuneration was reduced and he hadn't received a signing advance.
## Excel Entertainment's Response
Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Farhan Akhtar, disputed Singh's claims, stating he had previously approved the script and that remuneration discussions occurred before signing. They also challenged Singh's budget concerns and questioned whether he would have left if his film "Dhurandhar" hadn't been a blockbuster.
## Singh's Proposal and Outcome
Singh later offered a settlement, proposing Rs 10 crore compensation and a fee reduction for a future project with Excel. However, the producers rejected this, prioritizing compensation for losses already incurred. The "Don 3" issue remains unresolved.
## Lessons Learned
Farhan Akhtar has expressed that the "Don 3" experience taught him to expect the unexpected in filmmaking, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and resilience in the industry.
