Saudi Arabia bans syringe-style cosmetic products from 2027

## New Cosmetic Packaging Regulations

Saudi Arabia's Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has announced a ban on syringe-style packaging for cosmetic products starting January 1, 2027. This decision aims to prevent confusion between cosmetics and injectable drugs.

## Packaging and Labelling Requirements

While cosmetics in ampoules and vials will still be allowed, they must include clear warnings in both Arabic and English. These warnings will state that the products are for external use only and should not be injected. Additionally, labels must advise users to avoid eye contact and handle the products carefully.

## Compliance Deadline

Manufacturers and importers have until December 31, 2026, to comply with the new regulations. After this date, non-compliant products will face legal action. The SFDA has also banned any advertising suggesting these products can be injected or penetrate the skin.
