## Academic Year Start

Students in the UAE are set to return to classrooms on August 31, marking the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year. This applies to public schools and private institutions following the Ministry of Education's curriculum.

## Staff Preparations

Teachers and administrative staff will resume duties on August 24, a week before students, as per the Ministry's calendar. The academic year includes 185 instructional days divided into three terms.

## Term Structure

The first term consists of 67 days and includes various assessments such as the Arabic Baseline Assessment and the Standardised Proficiency Assessment. A mid-term break is scheduled before the end-of-term exams. Winter holidays for students start on December 14, with staff breaks commencing on December 21.

## Second and Third Terms

The second term begins on January 4, 2027, featuring the announcement of first-term results and final assessments. It includes the Eid Al Fitr holiday and a spring break starting April 5. The third term starts on April 12, with schools participating in the TIMSS 2027 international assessment and concluding with final exams from June 21 to 30.

## End of Academic Year

The school year ends for students on July 2, 2027. Staff will continue until July 16, completing professional development and administrative tasks before their summer break begins on July 19.
