Typhoon Dolphin weakens but disrupts travel in east China

## Typhoon Dolphin's Impact

Typhoon Dolphin, after making two landfalls in Zhejiang province, has weakened but continues to cause significant disruptions in eastern China. The storm led to heavy rainfall and the cancellation of hundreds of flights on Monday.

## Evacuations and Alerts

Authorities evacuated over a million people in anticipation of the storm. Zhejiang's Wenzhou city alone relocated more than 900,000 residents. In addition, over 150,000 people were evacuated in Fujian province and more than 200,000 in Shanghai.

## Transportation Disruptions

Shanghai's main airports canceled 943 flights, and local train services were suspended. While some cities began restoring transportation, Ningbo airport warned of potential delays.

## Ongoing Weather Concerns

Despite the typhoon's weakening, heavy rain is expected to continue in parts of east and central China. Beijing is also on alert for extreme weather, with warnings of potential landslides and flooding.

## Recent Weather Patterns

Typhoon Dolphin follows Typhoon Noul, which struck Guangdong province two weeks earlier. Last month, Typhoon Maysak caused severe flooding and casualties in southern and central China, highlighting the increasing frequency of extreme weather events.
