## Incident Overview A Malaysia Airlines flight experienced a safety scare when a laser beam struck its cockpit as it approached Kolkata airport. The incident occurred on Saturday night, affecting the pilot's vision temporarily.

## Flight Details The flight, MH-184, was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Kolkata with 159 passengers on board. The laser was noticed about eight nautical miles from the runway, originating from the Madhyamgram-Barasat area.

## Safety Measures Despite the disorientation, the pilot managed to safely land the aircraft after circling the airport. All passengers and crew were unharmed.

## Investigation and Concerns Following the incident, Malaysia Airlines reported the event to airport authorities, who have initiated an investigation. The use of laser lights near airports is prohibited due to the potential risk they pose to flight operations.
