Indian expat in Dubai denied anticipatory bail in Kerala wife's suicide abetment case

## Court Decision

A sessions court in Kerala has refused anticipatory bail to a Dubai-based Indian man accused of abetting his wife's suicide. The court, however, granted bail to his parents, who are also implicated in the case.

## Case Background

The accused, identified as A.P.C, works in Dubai and returned to the UAE shortly after his wife's death. The Kerala Police issued a Look Out Circular against him following the incident. His wife, Fathimath Riza, died by suicide on July 28, just over six months after their marriage.

## Allegations

The prosecution claims Riza faced mental and physical abuse after confronting her husband about alleged drug use and infidelity. She reportedly left a suicide note and sent a WhatsApp message to a friend detailing her suffering.

## Court Findings

The court found prima facie evidence suggesting the husband's involvement in the alleged abetment of suicide. However, it noted that there was no credible evidence against his parents at this stage.

## Defense Argument

The husband's defense argued that the couple had a happy marriage and denied the allegations. They stated that he returned to Dubai due to work commitments after attending his wife's funeral.

## Investigation Status

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the accused have not yet been proven in court. A.P.C remains unavailable for comment.
