## Financial Challenges Revealed
Chinese actor Luo Zheng recently shared his financial struggles, revealing he has only $700 in savings after ten years in the entertainment industry. This disclosure came during a variety show appearance, where he explained that a significant portion of his earnings went towards settling a financial penalty related to a contract dispute with his former talent agency.
## Contract Dispute and Legal Battles
Luo Zheng, who gained fame from the 2018 show "Idol Producer," signed a ten-year exclusive contract early in his career. However, when he attempted to terminate the agreement, the agency demanded ¥50 million CNY in damages. Despite spending over ¥200,000 CNY on legal fees, the court ruled against him.
## Earnings and Expenses
Throughout his career, Luo Zheng reportedly generated ¥2–3 million CNY for his agency but received only a fraction of that amount personally. He attributed the discrepancy to management costs, which included minor expenses like water dispensers and light bulbs. At his peak, his annual income was ¥80,000 CNY, less than many entry-level jobs.
## Current Situation and Public Reaction
After renegotiating the penalty, Luo Zheng became debt-free in 2024. He now leads a modest lifestyle, living in the suburbs and using public transport. His recent livestream attracted over 100,000 viewers and gained him 600,000 new followers. While some fans admire his resilience, others question the authenticity of his narrative. A relative confirmed his frugal lifestyle has been consistent over the years.
