## KHDA's Strategic Initiative
Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has unveiled a strategic plan to significantly boost the number of Emirati teachers in the city's private schools. The goal is to have 3,000 Emirati educators in place by 2033. This initiative was announced during the Emirati Educator Forum, which gathered around 100 Emirati teachers from various private educational institutions in Dubai.
## Empowering National Talent
The strategy, approved by Dubai's Executive Council, focuses on attracting and empowering Emirati talent within the private education sector. It aims to enhance the role of Emirati teachers in shaping future generations and reinforcing national identity. The initiative aligns with the broader Education 33 Strategy (E33), which seeks to elevate educational standards and integrate Emirati values into the curriculum.
## Professional Development and Support
Amina Alkawari, Director of Educator Empowerment at KHDA, emphasized the importance of investing in Emirati teachers. She highlighted that empowering these educators is crucial for improving education quality and sustaining excellence. The Emirati Educator Forum serves as a platform for teachers to share knowledge, build professional networks, and explore innovative teaching methods.
## Workshops and Initiatives
The forum featured interactive workshops aimed at enhancing Arabic language teaching and incorporating modern educational practices. Discussions also covered the use of technology and artificial intelligence to support teaching and reduce workloads. Additionally, KHDA supports Emirati teachers through initiatives like Teach in Dubai and the Leaders in Education programme, which offer professional mentoring and development opportunities.
## Commitment to Education
The Emirati Educator Strategy reflects Dubai's commitment to strengthening the presence of Emirati teachers in private education. By fostering a supportive environment and providing opportunities for professional growth, Dubai aims to ensure that Emirati educators play a pivotal role in the educational landscape, contributing to the emirate's reputation as a global education hub.
