Dubai unveils Dh80m plan to light up Dubai Creek

## Transforming Dubai Creek

Dubai has embarked on an ambitious Dh80 million project to illuminate its historic Dubai Creek, aiming to create a vibrant nighttime destination. This initiative, directed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, seeks to merge the city's rich heritage with modern design through an immersive lighting experience.

## Key Locations and Features

The project spans eight kilometers and will illuminate six key locations: Creek Quay, Creek Promenade at the Gold Souq, Creek entrance at Infinity Bridge, Al Shindagha Historic District, Bur Dubai Souq, and Al Seef Marina. Each area will feature a unique lighting design that highlights its distinct character while preserving the historical essence of the Creek.

## Focus on Sustainability

Designed with sustainability in mind, the lighting system aims to minimize environmental impact, particularly on marine life. Enhancements will also be made to promenade lighting, waterfront walkways, and building façades to improve safety and pedestrian appeal.

## Celebrating Heritage

Dubai Creek has been central to the emirate's history, serving as a trade hub and witnessing the city's transformation. The new lighting project honors this legacy by creating a unique nighttime experience that connects people with Dubai's past.

## Completion and Impact

Expected to be completed in early 2027, the project will enhance Dubai Creek's status as a key historical and cultural destination, adding to the city's portfolio of world-class public spaces.
