Dubai has extended the application deadline for the fifth Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award to September 30, 2026. The award, managed by the UAE Water Aid Foundation, encourages innovations in water solutions powered by renewable energy and artificial intelligence.

The initiative aims to tackle water scarcity, a pressing issue affecting billions worldwide. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of Suqia UAE, highlighted the need for innovative solutions as climate change and population growth exacerbate water stress. The award seeks to recognize technologies that enhance water security through AI applications like predictive maintenance and intelligent distribution networks.

## Encouraging Global Participation

With a prize pool of $1 million, the award has become a global platform for sustainable water technologies. Since its inception, it has honored 43 winners from 26 countries. The extended deadline aims to attract more participants, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
