Emirates adds nine African routes with single-ticket travel through SAA

## New Codeshare Agreement

Emirates has broadened its codeshare partnership with South African Airways (SAA), allowing passengers to travel to nine additional African destinations using a single ticket. This expansion includes three domestic routes within South Africa and six regional routes to neighboring countries.

## Enhanced Travel Options

The new routes connect Johannesburg with Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth domestically. Regionally, travelers can now reach Kinshasa, Gaborone, Windhoek, Lusaka, Harare, and Victoria Falls. This development provides coordinated flight schedules and through-checked baggage for seamless travel.

## Long-standing Partnership

Emirates and SAA have collaborated since 1997, making this one of Emirates' longest-running partnerships. The expanded agreement aims to meet the growing demand for travel to South Africa, especially from Europe, while enhancing connectivity across southern and central Africa.

## Emirates' Presence in South Africa

Emirates first entered the South African market in 1995 and has since transported over 20 million passengers to and from the country. The airline currently operates 56 weekly flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.
