## Restricted Food Items
Travelers from India to the UAE in 2026 need to be aware of specific restrictions on food items. Dried coconut (copra) and crushed dry coconut are completely banned. Spices in powder form can only be packed in checked luggage, while fresh coconut is allowed in both carry-on and checked baggage. Ghee and cooking oil are permitted but must adhere to liquid and gel restrictions in cabin baggage, with a limit of 5 kg/l per passenger in checked baggage. Pickles are generally allowed, but chili pickle is restricted to checked luggage only.
## Other Prohibited Items
Apart from food, several other items are prohibited or restricted. These include poppy seeds, cricket bats, skateboards, fishing rods, measuring tapes, toy guns, imitation weapons, bows and arrows, and knives with blades longer than 6 cm. Explosives, ammunition, fireworks, and firecrackers are also banned.
## Medication Regulations
Travelers carrying controlled medications must obtain approval from the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention before their trip. A prescription is required for all medications brought into the UAE. Uncontrolled medications and over-the-counter drugs do not need prior approval, but travelers should verify regulations with the UAE embassy or consulate.
## Narcotics and Illegal Substances
The UAE has strict prohibitions on narcotic drugs and illegal substances. Items such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, and hallucinogenic pills are banned. Travelers should ensure they have the necessary approvals for any controlled substances needed for medical purposes.
## Important Considerations
This information is subject to change, and travelers are advised to check with airlines and relevant authorities before their journey to ensure compliance with current regulations.
