## New Gardening Initiative in Dubai
Dubai has launched a new service called 'Al Freej Gardener' to connect residents with licensed gardening and landscaping professionals. This initiative, supported by Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, and the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai, will be available through the Careem app starting in September.
## Aims and Benefits
The service aims to streamline access to trusted gardening services, ensuring that all providers meet legal and safety standards. It is expected to enhance the quality of gardening services, improve neighborhood security, and promote sustainable gardening practices.
## Service Offerings
Residents will be able to book various services, including garden design, maintenance, irrigation system installation, and agricultural consultancy. These services will be provided by approved companies offering tailored packages.
## Government and Private Sector Collaboration
The initiative was formalized through a memorandum of cooperation signed by senior officials from the involved government entities. This agreement outlines the roles of each entity in overseeing the platform, regulating the sector, and improving service standards.
## Role of Careem
Careem will manage the digital platform, handling the registration and onboarding of approved gardening companies. Only those meeting Dubai's licensing requirements will be allowed to join, ensuring residents have access to reliable professionals.
## Enhancing Community Services
Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi of Dubai Police emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing community services through partnerships with the private sector. The initiative is expected to raise safety and service standards across Dubai.
