Oman launches free two-week tourist visa under new entry rules

## New Visa Initiative Oman has unveiled a new initiative offering a complimentary 14-day tourist visa for nationals of selected countries. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance tourism by simplifying entry procedures.

## Regulatory Changes The changes were implemented following Royal Oman Police Decision No. 109/2026, issued by Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin Al Shraiqi. The decision was published in the Official Gazette and took effect immediately.

## Visa Conversion Option Visitors holding this visa can convert it into other tourist visa categories before its expiration, subject to specific conditions and fees. The new visa category is now included in Article 10 of the executive regulations and listed under Article 29 with a fee of zero Omani rials.

## Eligibility and Implementation While the list of eligible nationalities has not been disclosed, the visa will be available to citizens of countries designated by the competent authority. This measure replaces any conflicting provisions in previous regulations, aiming to make Oman more accessible to international tourists.
