UAE eVisa for GCC residents: Eligibility, requirements, fees and how to apply

## Overview

Residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries planning to visit the UAE can apply for an electronic visa (eVisa) before their trip. This visa allows expatriates living in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia to enter the UAE without the traditional visa process.

## Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a UAE eVisa, applicants must hold a valid residency permit from a GCC country with at least one year of validity remaining. Additionally, they need a passport valid for at least six months and must belong to a profession approved by UAE authorities. Applicants should also ensure they have no restrictions preventing entry into the UAE.

## Application Process

GCC residents can apply online through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai website. The process involves registering as a new user, selecting the GCC resident entry permit service, completing the application form, uploading required documents, and paying the visa fees. Once approved, the eVisa is sent to the applicant's email.

For visits to emirates other than Dubai, such as Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, applications should be submitted via the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) online platform.

## Costs and Validity

The entry permit costs Dh250, with an additional five percent VAT. The visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issue and allows a 30-day stay in the UAE, extendable once for another 30 days.

## Alternative Application Methods

GCC residents may also apply for a UAE visit visa through authorized travel agencies, which can assist with the application process and visa sponsorship if needed.
