## US Strikes Iran
The United States has launched significant retaliatory strikes on Iranian targets following an attack by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on a base in Jordan hosting American troops. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that the strikes targeted various military sites across Iran, including command centers and missile facilities, to mitigate threats to US forces and allies.
## Casualties and Reactions
Iranian media reported that a US strike on Qeshm Island resulted in the deaths of three civilians, including a child. Meanwhile, Kuwait confirmed that an Iranian attack on a Chinese company's building in its north killed one worker. Jordan's military successfully intercepted five missiles from Iran, preventing casualties.
## Regional Tensions
Qatar and Saudi Arabia have condemned Iran's actions, citing violations of sovereignty and international law. Both countries have expressed solidarity with Jordan and Kuwait, urging a halt to military actions and a return to diplomatic negotiations.
## Egypt's Port Fire Investigation
In Egypt, authorities are investigating a fire at Damietta Port, believed to have been caused by a drone. The fire affected two vessels, but no injuries were reported. The investigation aims to determine the responsible parties and ensure national security.
## Strait of Hormuz Blockade
The US continues to enforce a naval blockade against Iran, redirecting commercial vessels to prevent Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM has reported redirecting 20 vessels and disabling two others as part of this operation.
## Ongoing Negotiations
Pakistan has confirmed ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran to de-escalate tensions, particularly concerning the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The situation remains fluid as diplomatic efforts continue.
