The Dubai Sports Council has unveiled the Kabayan Basketball League, a new initiative aimed at uniting the Filipino community across the UAE through basketball. This league is set to be the largest basketball event dedicated to Filipinos in the Emirates.

## Registration and Competition Details

Registrations are now open for up to 100 teams, each comprising 15 members, including a coach. After the registration phase, 24 teams will be selected to compete in the tournament. Matches will be held at Dubai Sports World and Shabab Al Ahli Indoor Stadium.

## Community and Wellbeing Focus

Beyond competition, the league aims to promote healthier lifestyles and community engagement. It aligns with the UAE National Strategy for Wellbeing, offering the Filipino community access to quality sports facilities and encouraging physical activity.

## Prize Pool

The tournament features a prize pool of Dh25,000, with the champions receiving Dh12,000. The second, third, and fourth-place teams will receive Dh7,000, Dh4,000, and Dh2,000, respectively.
