## Profit Surge in Q2 2026
Fertiglobe, a prominent fertiliser producer listed in Abu Dhabi, has announced a significant dividend payout for the first half of 2026. Shareholders are set to receive at least $150 million following a substantial increase in the company's quarterly earnings.
## Financial Highlights
In the second quarter, Fertiglobe's adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to $371 million, marking a 111% rise compared to the previous year. The company's adjusted net profit attributable to shareholders soared to $145 million, approximately 12.5 times higher than the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter reached $1.1 billion, a 92% increase year-on-year, driven by improved pricing and robust production in Egypt and Algeria.
## Dividend and Shareholder Returns
The proposed dividend, equivalent to 6.73 fils per share, represents a more than 20% increase from the previous year. The board is expected to approve this in September, with payments scheduled for October 2026. Fertiglobe has returned or proposed to return over $3 billion to shareholders since its IPO, including this latest dividend.
## Operational Performance
Fertiglobe maintained a urea utilisation rate of 92% across its operations, despite facing export shipment challenges in the UAE. The company managed to offset these constraints by diversifying export routes and expanding storage capacity. This strategic move helped maintain production continuity and contributed to the company's strong financial performance.
## Market Outlook
Despite a decline in urea prices from April highs, prices rebounded by over 30% to $555 per tonne in July. Fertiglobe anticipates that lower urea prices combined with higher crop prices will enhance affordability for farmers, thereby supporting demand. The company also noted that ammonia prices remain stable due to limited Middle East exports and increased European gas prices.
## Debt Reduction
Fertiglobe's net debt decreased significantly, falling to $621 million by the end of June from $1 billion at the end of December 2025. This reduction reflects the company's strong financial management and operational efficiency.
